Sneak peek - Waterfall card!

Hola! A sneak peek of my new waterfall card specially ordered by a relative for her wedding anniversary. Yes, it's a waterfall card indeed...and this is my first try. It's all made of papers and gets thicker the more I added the embellishments. LOL! There are 6 pages of cards inside with photos and what nots! Hehehe...

I got a lil' bit carried away when I was doing this and I think the most difficult part for this card is to get the flipping mechanism correct. I had to sorta 'reengineered' or redesign the card a lil' bit to ensure the thickness, which is all due to the embellishments inside, doesn't disturb the flipping effect.

Ah well....i still have a bit more to go....and I'll be showing the whole contents of the card ( more like a mini album! LOL!) in my next post.

Photo was taken using a camera phone...sorry for the quality...

Cards galore...

Hola! Just would like to share my new cards that I have completed by mostly using my scrap items. Let's walk through each of the design below. (Did these out of boredom actually when I needed the mojo to start on my new waterfall card...!)

1) Basically a collage and an easy one for this. I have used the Mariposa pp and Webster's Pages. No inking. Plain and simple.

2) Pp is from Kaisercraft. Love it especially it is showing Malaysia on this one hehe...The stamp is from Kaisercraft as well and they are of a travel collection. Bought that from a craft warehouse in Australia; and still got a few more pieces...hehe

3) The two above are of similar design except for the embellishments. Nothing much. Simple.

4) This is the one that confuses me until today. I really love that Tim Holtz's stamp ( butterfly) , but I just can't make out what message the card should carry. It looks like the butterfly has been brutalized by somebody. I can imagine blood spilled from its wings and all. hmm......

Quick storage for Receipts - altered box

Hola! Fhew! Finally got this one out! What is this? Well, this is actually a black Cosmo Cricket box, which have been painted, sprayed, stamped, embossed..emm..what else....

I was given an altered art challenge the other day by Scrapbook Memories and so here it is! This is also the first time I'm using my Enamelz by Shimmerz, which I received through the mail last couple of weeks. The circles that you see on the edge of the box were actually stamped on a textured paste. Once dried, I have applied various sprays including the Colour wash by Ranger apart from those from my Tattered Angels collection. Once dried again, I applied versamark just on the circles and sprinkled the Enamelz prior heating.

The word Receipts were actually a die cut foam, which I have glued onto the box and then applied the Versamark. Enamelz was sprinkled onto it and I did that twice this time.

The arrow was actually a grungeboard element by Tim Holtz. It was sprayed, and heat embossed with the Enamelz.

My day job requires me to travel places and I need to keep a lot of receipts for end of the month claim. I don't want to be keeping these in my purse! Purrlease.....i certainly don't mind my purse to be bulky because of ringgit notes but certainly not due to receipts!! lol!

So, this seems to be a quick solution for me for my receipts storage. I just need to tuck it in the box and by end of the month, I can revisit the box to settle my traveling claim! Voila! Hehehe....

Thanks to Scrapbook Memories for giving me the opportunity to create!
Go visit their shop for they have various items and consistently keep coming in!, for your creative minds!

TCR#76-It's always great being with you - a scrapbook layout

Hola! This is my latest layout using Prima's pp in combination with the lovely Mariposa pp's by DCWV. When I first saw the Mariposa 8x8 at the shop last 2 weeks, I just knew it's gonna be mine! LOL! The designs are ..ooo lala! Had a long and hard decision to make on which one to use first...by the way, this is my entry for The Color Room challenge #76.

Anyway, on this layout, well, I still think it's a simple layout, yes? I have purposely left a bit of negative space (watchamacallit??!) in this layout. I didn't do paints nor distressing and neither did I do any masking or spraying. This is pure paper, glue and scissor. I have added a stamped sentiment though.

On the Mariposa's birdcage, I have added layers of cardboard just to give a bit of dimension onto the layout. Kewl!

Oh yeah, and the crocheted lace border was handmade by my Mom. As always, she does magic with her hands!

Materials used:
Card stock: Bazzil Basics
Pp: Prima and Mariposa (DCWV)
Push pins: Webster's Pages
Stamp: Hero Arts Great Flourishes messages
Ink: Memories
Crocheted lace border: Honey's Creations

Boys will be Boys - a scrapbook layout

Hola! A new layout from me this week and I have kept it simple. I guess simple has always been my style. I'm not sure whether it's affected by my day job when I only have a few hours a week to scrap or it's just my level of endurance on completing a layout...

The base pp that I have used here is from Bella boulevard and the pp strips with sentiments are from We R Memory Keepers. Love the design though it's simple. I have used a corrugated paper and painted it with brown and green acrylic paints and added on the fence die cut by Tim Holtz.

I have applied masking here using Tim Holtz's Timeworks mask.
Photos were taken in 2009 during a cousin's wedding in a museum in Shah Alam.

Materials used:
PP: Bella Boulevard and We Are Memory Keepers
Die: Tim Holtz alteration 'on the fence'
Buttons: Basic Grey
Mask: Tim Holtz's Timeworks
Distress ink: Tim Holtz's frayed burlap.
Tag: 7 Gypises.

Collection of mist sprays - Tattered Angels and Colour Wash

If you're wondering what these are, well, these are actually a collection of left overs mist sprays that I have wiped off from the craft sheet onto a thin chipboard. I didn't want to waste them so, I've collected the left over to be used for other projects. And now, I just don't know what to do with them.
I love the effects and it would be a waste to cover it up with so many flowers, photos and stuffs until you can't see them...

Maybe I will make this into a mini album of my favorite songs or whatever....we'll see..dunno how yet but.....wish me luck!

Happy Birthday - a card

Hola! Hi there. Again a new and simple card from me. I did this last night when I was so in a hurry cos my son was already ransacking my stamps collection. Anyway, I have intended, originally, to spend less than an hour for this piece, so here it is.

The alphabets were stamped one at a time. I told you that I don't have a 'Happy Birthday' stamp as it is, didn't I? Hehe...

Got that bottle cap at Scrapbook Memories last week. The flower..emmm...left over from my other projects, can't remember what now.

Materials used:
Base card: Bazzil Basics
Pp: Prima
Stamp: Hero Arts Monogram alphabets
Ink: Archival ink black Ranger

Happy Birthday - a card

Hola! This week is going to be filled with cards from me, I guess. I'm doing several cards this week hoping to give several choices for a cousin's friend to choose. This is quite a simple one from me. The pp was punched with Martha Stewart deep edge punch. I have used Tim Holtz mask on one corner of the card and distressed with Tim Holtz's distress ink.
I don't have a 'happy birthday' stamp, so, I have decided to use my own handwriting instead. Boleh laaa.....hehe..

The flowers bouquet is from D'Nata ( Tropicana Mall ).

I did the same concept here just like in my previous post on Happy Teacher's Day.

Materials used:
Base card: Bazzil Basics
Pp: free 6x6" paper pads from craft magazine
Punch: Martha Stewart
Flowers: from D'Nata
Black Pearls: Kaisercraft
Mask: Tim Holtz - with distress ink

Scuba-Diving - a scrapbook layout for Sketch#54 @Sketchabilities

Hi there! Selamat Hari Raya or Eid Mubarak and Maaf Zahir Batin to those of you who are celebrating! This is my second layout after a week of Eid celebration and tomorrow....is back to work!work!work!

Latest layout is on Scuba-Diving, which has always been my outdoor passion. Photo was taken at Mabul Island, where we stayed for few days of diving at the island itself, the Sipadan and also Kapalai. I logged my deepest ever depth here, which was at 35m. And this was the place where I had (i think) the most dangerous dive, which was near a dummy oil platform (it was a 'used' oil platform where they left it off the coast of Mabul Island for diving purposes) where the current was incredibly strong.

The underwater view especially in the Sipadan and Mabul Islands was simply awesome and you need to see it yourself to believe. The marine inhabitants were a myriad of colours and shapes and so intoxicating to look at! You just wonder at how great God creations are!

This layout, btw, is my take on Sketch #54 over at Sketchabilities.

I have not used any misting on the paper except those on the paper doilies.  I have also used the Stella-Rose layered chipboard and placed it at upper corner of the photo. Can you see the fence die-cut somewhere on this layout? LOL!

Btw, I don't think I have ever seen a bird eating a sea-horse before! LOL! But just for the fun of it, I have glued the sea-horse bottom-up to the bird's beak!

The edge of the cardstock was distressed with Distress-It-All by Zutter. It's quite noisy to use but the result is awesome! I didn't do much of a close-ups here though....

Materials used:
Cardstock: Bazzil Basics
PP: Webster's Pages (can someone confirm if this is right?)
Flowers: Prima
Dress form chipboard: Kaisercraft
Ink: Memories
Stamp: Hero Arts Fish and Shells
Bird cage die: Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations
On the fence die: Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations
Pearls: Queen and Co.
Transparencies: Glitz Creations
Distress Inks: Tim Holtz
Spray-mist: Tattered Angels and Ranger's Colour Wash

2010 - a scrapbook layout

Hi there! It has been like more than a week without any post from me. I've been so busy with Hari Raya with all the visits and also people visiting us. Come nighttime, I was already flat tired and exhausted. Nothing inspired me to craft at all. Yesterday, I finally went back into my craft space and man! I was totally low on mojo! It took me quite some time to decide whether to start on a card or a layout and I even took a longer time to decide which photo to be used. Ughh!

Anyways, here is finally the result; in an attempt to recover my mojo...simple...

It's a layout featuring a travel theme. Photos were taken at Menzies Creek, Belgrave and somewhere in between when we boarded the Puffing Billy steam train. This is my second layout on Puffing Billy cos' I have taken some nice shots here, I think...Lol!

I have used Kaisercraft's paper here, which I have bought when I was in Melbourne last year; and still have plenty to use..LOL!
This layout is very simple and I have even minimized the use of embellishments. ( or i have always been a minimalist all this while! Hehehe!)

You can see I've used a tiny cloth peg in this layout to hold the element grungeboard, which I have stamped with Hero Arts Stripes onto it. I did the same on the numbers as well and to the edges of the paper, which later was distressed with Rusty Hinge.

That metallic leaf was actually part of an earring. I think it's really cool to be able to use real cheap items in your layout as opposed to those they are selling in the craft shops, which can be rather quite expensive! ( of which I still can't help buying...hehehe!)

Materials used:
Paper: Kaisercraft
Stamp: Hero Arts Stripes and Patterned Butterfly
Grungeboard elements by Tim Holtz
Ink: Memories
Flowers: from D'Nata
Tiny cloth peg: from D'Nata
