Decoupage tissue paper - art journal

Hi there! In this post, I would like to share with you a decoupage tissue paper on my art journal.

I'm using a tissue paper that I bought from Typo at the Setia Alam Mall not so long ago. I haven't fully make use of it. ( guilty.) I was thinking on something new for my art journal hence I decided to decoupage the tissue paper using multi-medium by Claudine Hellmuth on the pages for a start.

I sketched the princess and the castle using graphite pencil and then, coloured it using Derwent's pastel pencils. Something new for me. Im still not sure how to make the colour stays. Any ideas?

And below, is the final piece. Thanks for stopping by!

Portrait sketch

I started to draw when I was in my teens. Can't recall how it exactly started but I remember I saw my mother doing a sketch of an actress who i think starred in Charlie's Angels. I forgot her name. She was pretty with long black hair. That was the one and only sketch that she did back then and the one that I won't forget until today. My last portrait sketch was John Taylor of Duran Duran of which I gave it away as a birthday present to a cousin of mine. That was probably in late 80's or early 90's. I can't even remember now. I still keep with me a sketch of River Phoenix and a nephew of mine, which were posted before in this blog. After that, I didn't sketch anymore...until this year. I'm still an amateur at this. Never been to any class or workshop.

It didn't take me long to complete this. I didn't spend much time on the detailing and shading. So this is the closest to the photo I"ll ever get..lol!

Friends - art journal

Bought a few new stencils yesterday and went straight home to quickly try them. All of them except for one in here. Lol! The stencils are the designs by Dina Wakley, Balzer and Ronda Palazzari. Awesomeness.

I journaled on the page first about what friends means to me then I placed the ladies stencils on each page and started spraying with Dylusions. Distress inks and paints are also used here.

White ink doodling here and there too.

Ill be making my own lady stencil soon. It's in my head already. Just need to find the time. ( always find excuses...lol! ) Stay tune!

Gelli plate - first test

Ahah! Yeap! My first test on the wonderful gelli plate! This one was done on a collage of paper scraps, which is still a part of my mission to reduce the clutter on my desk. The scraps are of various colours hence to tone down, I have applied a coat of gesso lightly on them.

Then I just squeezed out acrylic paints from the tube, and here I have used Daler Rowney's; and spread with a brayer on the gelli plate. The feel of this is so heavenly. Hehe...I have used several stencils to pick up the paints before I applied on my art journal.

This was my first try with a limited time to enjoy since I was rushing for a trip that day. I will definitely gelli plating again!

Doodling and watercolouring

It's Friday! Yeayy!! 2 days of rest and ill be back on my feet on Monday to travelling on assignments. Loads of things happened to me this week, which was quite unfortunate but I thanked God for everything because He knows what's best for me. I thanked Him for I still wake up in the morning and able to experience what life has to offer day by day.

So, here's sharing with you something that I doodled recently in my art journal and finally decided to add watercolouring to it. The photos have been edited a bit using Photoshop. I have used my iPhone to take the photos and they are quite gloomy. Probably because I didn't have sufficient lighting.

Thanks for stopping by!
