A Keepsakes Box

Hi there! How do you like my new keepsakes box creation? It's very simple, I think. Maybe at the end of this post, I'll let you know how much I've spent for making this box.

OK, patterned papers are from Graphic 45 and Echo Park, ahh yes! and not forgetting Prima. I've basically dressed up the box with these pps as I like. Stamping; yes and that too was added here and there and mostly are from Hero Arts.

Here , on the photo to the right; you don't see the lid handle yet cos' it's actually not fixed yet. I'm having problem finding a suitable one and the only one I could find is from a local hardware shop near my house and it's actually for wardrobes and all..Hehehe... But anyway, you'll see it in the next photo anyway.

Yeah, there it is. The handle. It's kinda blend in alright but to me, hmmphh....still not there yet. I thought I saw somewhere in the web on these things. I might wanna check it out again! Meanwhile, this is the best I could do with...(and it's cheap! RM3 only). I'm not really done with this box, I think. Just feels need to add a bit more of something! LOL!

You see that leg foundations for the box? Isn't it awesome! That's from Tim Holtz and they are metals. Love the design and will buy some more next week!

Budget for this:
Box - RM33.00
Leg foundations - RM36.00
Papers: estimate about RM5.00 each (I have used 2 pps here); of course you can get something cheaper...it's all up to you, really
Stamps: Well, you can use any in your collections.
Lid handle - RM3.00

So that basically works out to be about less than RM100.00; provided you have your own stamps to add to the designs and of course your own embellishment.
So, I guess if you don't have anything at all; perhaps it'll cost you about RM200 (you may wanna buy some stamps and the embellishments!). But, if you can find something in your own household to create; it's even more better; save a LOT of money!

Materials used:
Box: From ArtFriend (Gardens)
Leg foundations: Tim Holtz
Stamps: Hero Arts Silhouettes and Sew Artsy
Inks: Memories and Distress Inks by Tim Holtz
PP: Graphic 45, Echo Park Paper Co and Prima

Beauty is All Attitude - a Card

Hi there! This is my take on sketch #125 over at Card Patterns. A very simple and I would say quick card to complete.

In this card, I have used my first set of stamps by Inkadinkado. I have stamped the dress onto a pp and cut out to shape. Added on another pp by Prima with one the four sides cut into a scallop. String of pearls added for the final touch.

I  have also used Tim Holtz's vintage photo on the edges of the card just to create a vintage feel to it. Hehe...
Materials used:
Stamps: Inkadinkado - Classic Sets
Patterned paper - Prima
Inks: Memories and Tim Holtz

I Love U - A Scrapbook LO

Hi there! A new scrapbook layout from me entitled "I Love U". It didn't take me quite long to complete but I did take time to think for the ideas. I get a lot of inspirations from people's blog but the moment I'm on it; I think I must've stared on the paper for quite a bit. Hehehe...

This time I have used materials from various suppliers such as Hero Arts, Dusty Attic, Prima, Kaisercraft, Memories, Webster's Pages, Tim Holtz, American Crafts, Ranger, Folk Art & Martha Stewart. The doilies were bought from a local supermarket and I have first distressed with Tim Holtz's old paper before stamping it with Hero Arts Antique Background.

The fancy trim by Dusty Attic was heat-embossed with several layers of black sparkle and copper embossing powder. Both are from Rangers. The petals were originally bright pink!  but I have sprayed onto it few colours from the Glimmer Mist collecion of mine.

The Hero Arts Heart Winged Butterfly was stamped onto a transparency and heat embossed with white embossing powder. For the I LOVE U, I have first applied textured paste onto Tim Holtz's grungeboard; letting it dry and later painted it with a metallic paint from Folk Art.

Patterned paper was punched with Martha Stewart's doily lace and placed behind the photo.

Materials used:

Papers: Webster's Pages (main)  and Prima
Stamps: Hero Arts Antique Background, Heart Flourish and Birdcage
Flowers: Prima
Birdcage chipboard: Kaisercraft
Fleur-de-lis chipboard: Dusty Attic's Fancy Trim
Inks: Tim Holtz's distress inks and Memories
Embossing powder: Rangers and American Crafts
Spray mist: Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels

Fraser's Hill - a scrapbook layout

Hi there! Had a long day at work today, came back home and straight went to pack things up cos' we're going to the east coast tomorrow..!! Yayyy!. The east coast of Malaysia has always been one of my favourite destination or more precisely; my favourite scuba diving destination. The islands are abundant with beautiful corals and reef fishes and if you're lucky, you might be able to spot a whale shark and dolphins too. I haven't been diving for a few years now and it's quite sad really. I don't even think I can fit in into my dive suit anymore..woops hehehe! Anyway, the trip to east coast tomorrow is not about going to these islands but we're actually attending a wedding and also 'batik and keropok lekor' shopping extravaganza!Scuba-diving? Well, maybe next time when I can persuade Mr Hubby to follow....

OK, my new scrapbook layout (actually without a title, but I give it one anyway!) entitled "Fraser's Hill" was completed about an hour ago. It took me approximately 1 hour to complete (without interruption, of course!). I have used a plain Bazzil Basics and spray generously Glimmer Mist (red and green) after I have stamped the background with Hero Arts stamps Antique Background and Block Tree. I let the mixed inks flow across the paper top to bottom. No dabbing. I kinda like the effects created by doing so. Feels a bit grungy (to me!) and I like grungy. I have also used a stash of left over papers from Kaisercrafts, which have been cut into various sizes of circles and they were arranged all around the photo. Purple is my Mom's favourite colour, hence I have tried to use all shades of purple and mixed with others that blend well enough.

The white butterflies were actually a Hero Arts stamp Heart Butterfly stamped onto a vellum with Versamark and later heat embossed with a white embossing powder. The rest of the butterflies were from Spellbinders Butterflies die-cuts and so are the fleur-de-lis.  EKsuccess scallop punch was also used for the journalling tag.

So, since I'll be travelling, no post for this weeekend from me. I'm going to enjoy my 'keropok lekor' !!!

Materials used for this layout:
Paper: Bazzil Basics
Stamps: Hero Arts - Antique Background, Heart Butterfly, Block Tree
Ink: Memories & Versamark
Embossing powder: Ranger (copper) and American Crafts (white)

Dancing with Flowers - a Card

Hi there! Another new card from me this weekend and actually it has no title..LOL! So, I guess I'll borrow the title of the stamp, which is Dancing with Flowers this time.

This card is my take on Sketch #123 challenge at Card Patterns. The original sketch is like the above. I have used Hero Arts yet once again CG266 Dancing with Flowers. I have stamped it onto Prima pp and later trace the outline with an embossing pen and later heat embossed with Ranger's embossing powder - Amethyst. The lace was just glued on the pp and later added the purple flowers and pearls.

Hello Love - a Card

Hi again! A new card from me today titled "Hello Love". This is my take on the Day 129-Criss Cross challenge in 365 Cards; except that I have accidentally uploaded it into the Day 130 challenge! I just could not find the undo button! Yikes!

I got that alpha cut-outs from Basic Grey paper. The stamps used here are Hero Arts CL446 Sew Artsy.
The sewing machine was first stamped with watermark and later sprinkled with white embossing powder. I have also used an embossing pen for the body of the sewing machine and then sprinkled with holographic embossing powder.

A ribbon was then added to the tag, which was glued off-centre to the card. Thanks for looking!

For this card I have used:
Stamps: Hero Arts CL446 Sew Artsy
Embossing Powder: Ranger & American Crafts
Alpha cut-outs: Basic Grey

Dare To Dream - A Scrapbook Layout

Well, I guess who doesn't dare to dream, right?
This is my new layout using a beautiful cardstock from....yikes! I forgot where it's from!

I have used Hero Arts stamps once again CG266 Dancing with Flowers and I think this stamp is simply beautiful. I think I'll be using it more in my next projects, I hope. And, I have also used Hero Arts Heart Flourish K5153 on the edges of the cardstock.

The chipboard clock, which was heat embossed with holographic embossing powder is from Dusty Attic. I just love their chipboards and I do hope to get more of it from the local craft shops. I went to Papier 2 days ago but they haven't got many left ... :(

On this layout, I have decided to add on splashes of red paint and when dried, applied the stamps on it. I have used a transparency from Glitz Design, which isn't transparent anymore since I have painted a metallic gold paint behind it. Don't ask me why I did that..LOL! (might as well not to use transparency at all, huh!..hehehe). I have used the Fleur-de-lis doily accents from Spellbinders, which is placed right below the photo.

For this layout, I have used:
Stamps: Hero Arts CG266 Dancing with Flowers and Hero Arts K5153 Heart Flourish
Clock chipboard: Dusty Attic
Die-cut: Fleur-de-lis doily accents from Spellbinders
Transparencies: Glitz Creation
Flowers: Prima and my cut-outs from eCraft
Ink: Memories
Embossing powder: Ranger & American Crafts

Sew What's New? - a test Card

Well, I guess there's nothing new in this card except that I made this when I was trying to play with a mixture of my Glimmer Mist collection. Bought another new one and it's reddish. So as you can see, there's a splash of red on the background. Not so good on the masking job, though but this was the best I could do when my eyes were half closed...sleepy zzzzz....

I have used Sew Artsy stamp; the dress form by Hero Arts on this card. The pink skirt was created by using Martha Stewart's doily lace punch and later added glued foam dots to create dimension.

The materials I have used for this card:
Stamp: Hero Arts CL446 Sew Artsy
Button: Sazzy n Such
Spray Mist: Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels
Mask: Prima
Ink: Memories
Edge Punch: Doily Lace from Martha Stewart

Take Time For... - Card

Hola! Woww! It's very...very yellow this time. Ermm.. I don't really like yellow but I do appreciate the fact that yellow brings vibrancy to almost any craft work you're doing. Agree?

On to this card now and a very simple one. The bear stamps actually came free with craft magazine that I bought this month so is the paper that I have used for the whimsy tree and the flowers, which were cut using my eCraft. I did some water-colouring here as well with my limited supply of Faber-Castell..LOL!

The other stamp that I have used for this card is by Hero Arts CL416 What's Perking and I have added the designer twine as well from Hero Arts and tied up to the yellow button.

Edges of the card was distressed with Tim Holtz's old paper.

For this card, I have used:
Stamps: Hero Arts CL416 What's Perking & Bentley Bear
Water-colour: Faber-Castell
Button: Doodlebug Design
Ink: Memories & Distress Ink by Tim Holtz

Long Life To You - Card

Hola! Been almost a week without any post! Kinda low in mojo lately. Been busy with work and all..

Here's a card, which took me about 3 days to make (so many breaks in between!). This card is specially ordered by a relative of mine for her dear hubby. I have selected a vintage theme for this card and it is accentuated with a page of an old book I bought at a flea market in KL. There is supposed to be a photo of the birthday boy inserted between the bird cage and the typewriter but I have taken it out for privacy purpose.

On this card, I have used the Time to Stamp by Hero Arts as background by heat embossing with clear embossing powder. The old page was distressed on the edges with Tim Holtz's distress ink (old photo).

The Heart Flourish stamp by Hero Arts was then stamped on 2 corners of the card as well partly on the old page.  I have also used Type 4x6 stamp by Hero Arts as part of the embellishments.

Prima petals were coordinated with brad by Momoyo and a single butterfly, which was cut using my eCraft. Fantastic!. I have also added the bird cage from Sizzix tied up with a linen string. It was first heat embossed with black sparkle embossing powder and I have purposely missed a few spots just to give a feel of a peeled-off paint look! Hope you like it!

Materials:
Stamps: K5153 Heart Flourish, CL483 Type 4x6 & CG144 Time to Stamp-all by Hero Arts
Die-cut bird cage: Sizzix
Flowers: Prima
Brad: Momoyo
